family updates Sept 2008

From Angel, Jason and Morgan:
Well, she {Morgan} is off to school. She was so excited to go yesterday and this morning she was driving me nuts. She went running for the car this morning but then the minute she got to school she got really quiet and sad looking. She kept telling me she was fine but it was weird. I am wondering if it hit her that she wasn't going to be in a class with everyone from last year. They take the class and split them up between the 3 first grade classes. Her friend Maddy (she lives on our road) and a little boy named Devon were in her class last year and they are with her this year too so that will be good. She will do fine I think once she gets to recess and sees all her other friends because all 3 first grade classes do recess's and lunch together so she will still see them.

From Trina and family:
Darik's first week of Kindergarten was o.k. I say "ok" cause he has had some issues adjusting to school and listening.... 1/2 the day he is pretty good... i think once he settles in he will be fine.

Krysta started 8th grade and is playing field hockey this fall, she was voted as team captain this year.
Kylee has begun potty training and is doing well with it... she is very stubborn though... she goes on her terms, no one elses.
Trina has returned to college with 3 classes this semester incl. one in photography in Orono twice a month. She also returned to the newspaper business, VillageSoup.
They recently moved to a new house in Thomaston. A beautiful log cabin that sits in a field of 27 acres.
You can view all her family news and photos at http://2girlz1boy.shutterfly.com

Dellie will turn 86 on Sept 17th. Happy Birthday Dellie!
Gerri and Mercer had birthdays in August. Happy belated birthdays!

If anyone else has some news, please email me, we 'd love to share it!

Reunion went well; family updates

The 31st annual family reunion was held at Paul Bunyan Campground in Bangor in July 2008.
We learned that many families are expanding with little ones, some of us are graduates and some are getting married.

Next year's reunion we will all gather again, only more of us this time!

Trina and Dave and kidz have moved to a new house in Thomaston. It is perfect for them! 3br, 2 bath, 2 car garage, 27 acres of field in the backyard. Mercer and Howard were the first to stay at the new house. Literally! They had they camper in the yard and spent the night before we could get moved in! Trina's ship didn't sail too far with the Windjammer Co., she will be returning to VillageSoup (who now owns 6 newspapers instead of 2) as the asst. production manager. The kids will be returning to school in a couple of weeks. Krysta will be in 8th grade, and Darik starts Kindergarten.

Keep in touch!

Don't forget to email your news!

Airplanes, school, babies, sports and more!

Mercer is getting ready to visit Angel, Jason and Morgan in Montana next week. She will return mid June. And shortly after Angel, Jason and Morgan will be coming to Maine for a visit.

Angel writes:
I thought I would just send you a couple of pictures of Morgan on the playground at school about a month ago. It is hard to believe her first year of school will be over in a couple of weeks. She is looking forward to her summer break. Her Grammy Harrington will be here in a couple of weeks for a visit and then we are going to make it to Maine in July. We hope all is well with all of you.

Corey and Shelly have some exciting news to share, they are expecting a baby! The baby has a strong heartbeat and is doing great. It has been a long road for Corey and Shelly to get to this point and will finally be able to share the joy of having children.

Rosie has a new porch on her house. Frankie and Tammy and kids moved to Patten where Frank is the new Pastor at the church.

Kelly works part-time at the Rockland post office delivering mail in-town routes. The girls are doing well and looking forward to their summer. Jasmin will start at a new school this summer and attend there in the fall. It is a school for children her age that are on the same learning level as her. Scott has gone back on the road truck driving.

Trina has left the newspaper business and the wind is in her sails, literally. She works for a Windjammmer company in Camden. http://www.mainewindjammercruises.com. The company has three tall-masted schooners and sail on 3,4,5 or 6-day trips.
Krysta is doingg well on her softball team. She plays third base quite well and will one of the top players next year in 8th grade.
Darik is developing an interest for baseball now. He is disappointed he cannot play little league this year cause he is too young. But he is going to summer camp for the whole summer at the local YMCA. They will be swimming every day, playing sports, and going on field trips. Then this fall he starts kindergarten. Kylee is our active bug. She has quite the personality, a mix of stubbornness, determination, sweet and lovable. She is working on potty training, and desperately needs a hair cut! David has been playing quite a bit of golf. Most recently at the Samoset, Rockland Golf Club and Belgrade Lakes. Dave and Trina are headed to a Red Sox game in June.

You should have received the invitation to the reunion by now. In it are the details of the reunion and a t-shirt design. If you want to order t-shirts, make sure to get the order form to Trina before June 14th. T-shirts need to be prepaid and I will deliver them to the reunion. The design will be as you see except without "Thompson" on it. The family is a descendant of the Stover-Dawes.
